Who is the Ms Right for Harry ?

Throughout the many times I’ve read the Harry Potter books, (more than I can count) a question that keeps popping into my head is “who is right for Harry?”. This is something that I think most Harry Potter fans are wondering. Some feel Hermione would be a smart match for Harry, others feel Ginny and him would be perfect together. Then there are still the few Cho/Harry fans. Recently with the turn up of Luna Lovegood, a lot of fans feel that there was chemistry between the two of them and that they might be the right fit. I personally feel that none of the above apply for Harry and here is my evidence to prove it.

Harry/Hermione: I had to start with this one, it has to be one of the most popular theories I have heard out there yet. But why these two? Where has Rowling ever even given the slightest hint that these two could end up together? There is no chemistry between the characters, (notice the emphases on characters) yes Radcliffe and Watson may have chemistry (something I really can’t comment on since I have never seen them converse with each other besides interviews) but that does not mean there is chemistry between the characters. JK has always made them friends and that is it, final. In the line of another “when has JK ever wrote something in just for the fans?”

Harry/Ginny: This is another popular theory, this one seems a lot more likely except for one little detail, Harry does not have any feelings for her. When Ginny first started going to Hogwarts she was completely infatuated with Harry and at some point in our lives we have all been infatuated by someone at some point. Harry has always looked at Ginny as Ron’s little sister and even though Ron seemed to give the okay in the fifth book, I don’t think Harry is interested in her as more than a friend. They may date for a short period in the books but I really don’t think it will go anywhere.

Harry/Cho: Anyone who can read and understand whatever language they read the books in knows that after the fifth book nothing is going to happen between the two. Cho still has deep feelings for her dead boyfriend and she was very immature to think that she was ready for another relationship. She shows herself as a jealous immature girl in the fifth books. >From what I have read about her she seems like the head of the pack of the popular girls in Hogwarts. Harry was her sort of rebound from Cedric and as she proved at the end of book five she is now content with Ginny’s ex-boyfriend. Cho is a classic heartbreaker. Harry and JK made it clear that the relationship between Harry and Cho was over.

Harry/Luna: Now as strange as it may seem this couple is probably the most likely out of all of the couples shown above. She seems to understand Harry in the fifth book better than Harry’s closest friends. They both have suffered great losses in their lives and Harry seems to show some sort of feelings for her in the fifth book. But I think that these feelings are wrongly interpreted by many readers as love, I think that it is part pity and part understanding. She may end up as a close friend and there may be a short relationship (I highly doubt this) but I don’t see a long lasting relationship.

So now you are probably thinking “If all of these matches are not a possibility than who else?”. I personally feel JK will wait until the seventh book to reveal her. I think she will be a character with a deep dark and mysterious past, also someone who doesn‘t really stand out. Harry always likes a dangerous adventure and what better adventure than to find out who someone is, in the process he may fall in love with her. JK always puts the unexpected into her books, that’s the pull of Harry Potter and from what I can see not many would expect this outcome.
